Kempsville High School is one of eleven public high schools in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools system. It is a comprehensive high school teaching grades 9-12. Located in the western section of the city, the Kempsville HS school district covers approximately 12 sq. miles, and draws students from both Kempsville Middle School and Larkspur Middle School. The school day is organized into an A/B block schedule with four class periods of 93 minutes each. Within a normal day, students attend three classes and a 42-minute study block and a 41-minute lunch. Upon request, students may enroll in seven or eight classes in lieu of lunch and study block. Semester courses earn one-half credit, and year courses earn one credit upon successful completion of the course. While enrolled in academics at Kempsville High School, students can also attend additional programs. These include dual enrollment, the Governor’s Magnet School for the Arts, the Technical and Career Education Center, Virginia Beach Central Academy, Advanced Technology Center, and the evening credit program at Open Campus High School.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Profile 2007-2008 )〕 ==School Administration== Mr. William W.
